Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, date of birth, or other entry submitted through a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies the response. Franklin County Warrant Records does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We may retain an email long enough to answer it and maintain the related correspondence. The message is kept within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page may cause our systems to receive routine technical and usage details about the visit, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- Pages opened and the time spent on them
- Device category and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The referring website, when one is available
- The device's Internet Protocol address
Cookies and Analytics
Small files called cookies may be stored on a visitor's device. Together with analytics services, they help produce combined traffic measures such as popular pages and common exit points. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the provider that processes it
- Measuring which reference pages are useful or need improvement
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Operating the site and improving its speed
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Warrant Data on File
Franklin County Warrant Records does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of warrants or personal warrant information. Its published material explains how to seek records through Indiana MyCase, the Franklin Circuit Court Clerk, Batesville City Court, and the Franklin County Sheriff. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or into records about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies provide the site's search boxes. Information placed in a box is handled under that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention, processing, and disclosure rules. Visitors should read those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Indiana MyCase, Franklin County Sheriff materials, court resources, legal-aid organizations, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy controls that visit. Its policy should be reviewed before personal information is supplied.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select interest-based advertising. That processing occurs through the provider's systems and practices.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may nevertheless be received by the following parties in the stated circumstances:
- Advertising networks that serve material on the site
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Outside search providers that process submitted queries
- Government or law-enforcement authorities when disclosure is compelled by a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information collected through the site. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed secure, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy or consumer-protection law may provide rights concerning personal information we hold. The Indiana Access to Public Records Act, Indiana Code 5-14-3, separately governs access to non-exempt records maintained by Indiana public agencies, including applicable Franklin County agencies; it does not convert this private site into a public records custodian. Requests to us may include:
- Opting out of certain forms of data processing
- Requesting deletion of personal information
- Asking us to correct inaccurate information
- Seeking a copy of personal information we hold about you
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. A revised policy will be posted on this page and identified by a new effective date. Visitors may return to this page to review the current terms.
